Gin Gan Goolie
Let me tell you an old story...my story again!! I think around 1979 when I had joined school, my Uncle Francis taught us this scout song. The original version doesn't have any proper lyrics...this version is by the Scaffolds. For a long time, I wanted to find out the name of the song, I can only remember Eddie going 'oompa, oompa' Fortunately I stumbled across this good rendition and since I could not find the Lyrics online. I am manually typing it.
Gin Gan Goolie Goolie wotcha Gin Gan Go, Gin Gan go,
Gin Gan Goolie Goolie wotcha Gin Gan Go, Gin Gan go, (Oomba, Oomba)
There's a pretty little Brown-Eyed Brownie
lives next door, Lives next door
With the beautiful-est Blue-Eyed sister
you ever saw, you ever saw
Hey La, Hey la Shayla
and her eyes are Summer Blue
Shayla, Her Name is Shayla
Hey La, Shayla I Love you
Gin Gan Goolie Goolie wotcha Gin Gan Go, Gin Gan go,
Gin Gan Goolie Goolie wotcha Gin Gan Go, Gin Gan go, (Oomba, Oomba)
How I wanted to ask her out, but I was scared
Oh so scared.
I remember my Boy Scout Training,
Be Prepared, Be Prepared.
Hey La, Hey la Shayla
and her eyes are Summer Blue
Shayla, Her Name is Shayla
Hey La, Shayla I Love you
Gin Gan Goolie Goolie wotcha Gin Gan Go, Gin Gan go,
Gin Gan Goolie Goolie wotcha Gin Gan Go, Gin Gan go, (Oomba, Oomba)
Now in Two or Three or Four weeks time,
I'll marry her, Marry her
All the Boy Scouts' Cubs and Brownies
will be there, will be there singing
Hey La, Hey la Shayla
Hey La, Shayla Hey La ho oh
Hey La, Hey la Shayla
Hey La, Shayla Hey La oh
Gin Gan Goolie Goolie wotcha Gin Gan Go, Gin Gan go,
Gin Gan Goolie Goolie wotcha Gin Gan Go, Gin Gan go, (Oomba, Oomba)
(Hey La, Hey Shayla) Repeat to Fade
